69��Ʒ��Ƶ College administrators tell the Daily Hampshire Gazette about the progress of the multiyear project to make the campus carbon neutral.

Two 69��Ʒ��Ƶ College students took home awards from the 2024 New England and St. Lawrence Valley Geographical Society Fall Conference for their research on water scarcity in the Southwest and on the preservation of indigenous water systems in Nepal.

Taking part in a two-day workshop featuring alums, staff and current interns, 69��Ʒ��Ƶ College students had the opportunity to learn what a career in environmental work entails and how to get on the right track to start their own journeys.

Recent alum Charlotte Cai ’24 wrote for the Food Recovery Network about starting a chapter at 69��Ʒ��Ƶ College.

69��Ʒ��Ƶ College student Grace Sanford ’24 won the prestigious Tidal Shift Award from the Portland Museum of Art. This award recognizes young artists who have created artwork contemplating the climate crisis.

In celebration of Earth Day, 69��Ʒ��Ƶ College welcomed Alexis Nikole Nelson to campus as she demonstrated to students, staff and faculty how foraging is not only good for the environment but also beneficial for one’s health.

“69��Ʒ��Ƶ offered the flexibility to pursue independent projects. 69��Ʒ��Ƶ allowed me to take away those boxes of who I ‘should’ be and how I ‘should’ define myself.”

Mara Benjamin, Irene Kaplan Leiwant Professor of Jewish Studies at 69��Ʒ��Ƶ College, has been named as part of the class of 2024 Guggenheim Fellows. Benjamin is one of 188 distinguished and diverse fellows of culture creators named.

Angelica Patterson, curator of education and outreach for the Miller Worley Center for the Environment at 69��Ʒ��Ƶ College, was quoted saying that the size of humans’ role in fostering climate resilience in forests depends on the trees themselves.
