President Holley invites the 69¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ College community to the LEAP Symposium

President Holley invites the 69¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ College community to the LEAP Symposium, an annual showcase of active, engaged, student learning on October 25.

Dear members of the 69¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ community,

It is a pleasure to invite you to Learning through Application (LEAP), 69¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ’s annual celebration of student experiential learning. On October 25, students, faculty, staff, alums, families and friends are invited to learn more about students’ exciting summer research and internships.

This year, 238 students will participate in 58 panels to present on their vastly different roles, such as an Alzheimer’s researcher, a ceramics studio intern, an economic analyst for litigation cases, a study abroad program support intern, an environmental education intern on a whale watch boat and more. (You can find the !) It’s not only a showcase of active, engaged student learning – it’s a chance to hear about the many different ways that our students apply their 69¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ education in a real-world setting. I learned so much from panelists at last year’s LEAP, and it was heartening to think about how 69¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ can equip students for such different journeys.

Active learning is a cornerstone of a 69¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ education, and LEAP is a moment to celebrate that. No matter what your role at the College, whether you know anyone presenting or not, I hope you’ll attend the LEAP Symposium. I know that you will leave feeling inspired.

Sincerely,

Danielle Holley
President
