Markeisha Miner is the Vice President for Community, Equity and Diversity at the University of Rhode Island. Prior to joining URI, she served as the Dean of Students at Cornell Law School from 2015-2023. Prior to that she served as Assistant Dean of Career Services and Outreach at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, overseeing all aspects of career planning and professional development.

Holding a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, Miner practiced as a commercial litigator in Dickinson Wright PLLC’s Detroit office early in her career. She was an inaugural member of the firm’s Diversity Committee and co-authored the firm’s Diversity Mission Statement, and clerked for the Honorable Anna Diggs Taylor on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She is a 69¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ Medal of Honor recipient.
